WEHCO Media names Mark Lane president of newspaper division

LITTLE ROCK — WEHCO Media, the family company that owns and operates the Times Free Press, announced Wednesday that Mark Lane will succeed Jeff Jeffus as president of its newspaper division, overseeing publications across six states. Jeffus will retire July 3 after 20 years with the company.

As president, Lane will work across WEHCO’s daily and weekly newspapers, as well as its digital agencies, magazines, events and commercial printing operations. Lane has a 24-year history in the publishing industry with a strong background in revenue and sales growth.

Lane comes to WEHCO from Morris Communications, where he spent the last seven years as its corporate vice president of sales. Prior to his current position, he directed sales and marketing efforts for publications in Jacksonville, Fla.; Augusta, Ga., and Kansas City.

Jeffus is retiring after 49 years in the newspaper industry.
