Wamp honors academy graduates

    Four students from Tennessee’s Third Congressional District completed their undergraduate education at one of America’s service academies, graduating with the class of 2009.

    “These exceptional graduates join the thousands of soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines who have successfully completed the rigorous education requirements at one of our nation’s service academies,” said Rep. Zach Wamp.

    “At a time when our country faces complex threats from around the world, this intense training and education will help lead a new generation of service men and women to meet these challenges. East Tennessee is proud of their commitment and willingness to serve our country.”

    The four appointees nominated by Congressman Wamp graduating in the class of 2009 include:

    Tyler Stephen Bahn:

Son of Gayle Taylor and Stephen Bahn of Cleveland, Tenn., graduate of Cleveland High School and U.S. Naval Academy.

    John William Daigle:

Son of Benny and Sandra Daigle of Cleveland, Tenn., graduate of McCallie School and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point

    Jordan Matthew Howen: Son of Debra and Robert Howen of Hixson, graduate of Family Christian Academy and U.S. Air Force Academy.

    Ethan James Mansel:

Son of Wendell and Karen Mansel, presently of Annapolis, Md., graduate of Oak Ridge High School and the U.S. Naval Academy.
