Since abortion is the horrible intentional killing of unborn babies by choice, Rep. Zach Wamp and 34 other members of the U.S. House of Representatives definitely do not think that is something American taxpayers should approve — or be forced to finance. The issue has arisen in connection with the ObamaCare socialized medicine proposals being pushed in Congress. A news release from Rep. Wamp’s office alerts us, saying, “The health care reform proposal in the U.S. House of Representatives would mandate individuals and employers purchase a set of minimum care benefits determined by an independent commission. Without excluding abortion in the final bill, the commission could order private insurers to cover abortions and force taxpayers to foot the bill.” That certainly should not be a possibility. The abortion issue is just one of many objectionable matters in the huge, complex, trillion-dollar-plus ObamaCare effort being pushed in Congress. American taxpayers should not be forced to foot a huge cost for abortion — or accept many other features in a bill that would drastically and irretrievably substitute “government medicine” for free enterprise personal choice medical care for the American people.
